Love Hurts

Love hurts...it's an unchanging fact.  True love cannot be separated from pain because true love is wanting the best for the ones you love.  If they are in pain, you are in pain.  And you are willing to "sacrifice" your own desires for their good.

What is sacrifice?  We're told that sacrifice is to give up something that is valuable to you in order to help others or those you love.

What is love?  The dictionary tells us it's a deep affection for something or someone that you like or enjoy very much.

To sacrifice yourself can be as important as holding someone's hand while they're battling cancer, or maybe you have a loved one who's struggling with depression or anxiety.  While these things can require much sacrifice, I believe the little things that you do every day for the ones you love count as self-sacrifice, as well.  To sacrifice yourself honors God, and God is love.

But the greatest sacrifice of all times was given by God Himself when He sacrificed His precious Son for us.  (John 3:16)  Love hurts...

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13
