When God Holds Your Hand

Each morning, in my heart, I meet our Lord Jesus on the beach and began my walk with Him for the day.  And each day, He holds my hand as we walk.  Just knowing that He's there with me as I travel the day's path brings me peace and comfort.  But it never fails that fear tries to creep in.

You know Jesus tells us over and over again not to fear.  Yet fear tends to be one of my biggest problems, and I believe it's Satan's biggest weapon that he uses against us.  Fear can cause anxiety, worry, depression; it can be overwhelming.  Just the anticipation of certain events in our lives can bring about fear, and often these things never even happen.  We're worrying for nothing.

Jesus even says,  in Luke 12:25-26, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?  Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?"

Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, that He's always with us.  This is something I have to remind myself of when fear comes my way.  Trust does not come easy for me, but when we trust in Jesus, change will happen.  Fears will weaken, anxiety will fade away...we may still have fear in our lives, but it will loosen its hold on us.  When God holds your hand, He doesn't let go.

Are you holding Jesus' hand today?

“For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
Isaiah 41:13

Animal Crackers In My Soup

Here's another Throwback Thursday for you!

Miss Carlie had her first dance recital a few years back.

Here she was dancing to "Animal Crackers in my Soup" by Shirley Temple.

Her little dances were so adorable, and she had so much fun in her dance class!

I think she's beautiful, but then I guess I'm just a little prejudice.  I'm so proud of her!

Be Kind

"You will never look into the eyes of someone God does not love.  Always be kind."

Author Unknown

I ran across this quote just this morning. Have you ever really sat and thought about that.  What is kindness?  The dictionary tells us that it is the "quality of being generous, and considerate."

When I think of kindness, I think of being nice to others.  I think of being courteous to others; respecting them, respecting their feelings.  I think of being polite.  A simple "thank you", or holding the door open for someone.  Or how about encouraging someone, congratulating them for their accomplishments?  This is what I think kindness is.

In Ephesians 4:32, Jesus' apostle, Paul, tells us "And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you".  He also associates kindess with love in I Corinithians 13:4 when he says, "Love is patient, love is kind..."

Jesus proves to us every day that He is kind.  He loves us unconditionally.  No matter what we do, or how we mess up, He forgives us.  He still loves us.

Are you being kind to others today?

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
John 13:34
